Henry Varnay Rose Sec NV. 750ml.
WINE EXPERT’S TASTING NOTES
Henry Varnay, located in Saumur on the Loire River, produces a remarkable Charmat Method sparkling wine, the Rosé Sec NV. This delightful wine is a blend of Gamay and Cabernet Franc, the two most prominent red grapes of the Loire Valley, and a touch of Grenache, Syrah, and Pineau d'Aunis. Sourced from various Loire Valley vineyards, this sparkling wine is consistent in quality, showcasing bright red fruit flavors with a hint of sweetness that plays off the vibrant acidity of younger vineyards and early picking. Aged in the Tuffeau, Saumur's famous calcareous rock cellars, this wine has a lovely off-dry character, producing approximately 8,000 cases per year. Enjoy this wine with seafood, light pasta dishes, or creamy cheeses for a delightful experience.
