WINE EXPERTS
Tempranillo from Paraje Altamira, 2021. In the glass, it displays an intense violet-red color. On the nose, you'll find a mix of semi-ripe black and red fruit with some intriguing animal notes. In the mouth, it's fruity, having spent 8 months aging in concrete eggs. It boasts good acidity, noticeable tannins, medium body, and a satisfying finish. This is a lovely Tempranillo with plenty of character!
WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES
We are aiming for a good level of acidity while also considering the ripeness of tannins. Given the longer maturation cycles of this particular grape variety, we've had to handle it with great care to ensure it reaches the bottle with the desired finish. We've worked with it in concrete eggs, doing so manually and trying to minimize any unnecessary movement. During this period, the wine may still exhibit a bit of ruggedness, but we believe it will emerge as a fascinating and elegant version.
