JELU
Winemaking & vineyard
Winemaking & vineyard: Jelu was established to showcase Argentina’s terroirs. Duncan (owner) saw the potential in the 1990’s as a “flying winemaker” and established Jelu Estate in 2002. Practicing organic and biodynamic farming techniques make his wines unique. Patagonia is well known for world-class outdoor adventures. Also, perfect climate for Pinot Noir and Duncan discovered it early on his journey as a winemaker. The grapes are hand-harvested, sorted in the cellar with as short period of carbonic maceration followed by crushing and cold soak. The wines ferment completely dry with balanced levels of acidity and alcohol. The high-elevation and Patagonian climate help produce this distinctive Pinot Noir, which shows Duncan’s passion for its wines and the terroir.
